Meet Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindful practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We view meditation not as clearing the mind or reaching a flawless zen state. It’s more like learning to sit with whatever arises—the swirling thoughts, the planning mindset, and even that odd itch that always shows up a few minutes in.

Our team blends decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some discovered meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal hardship, and a few simply wandered into it during college and never left. What unites us is a dedication to teaching meditation as a practical life skill rather than a mystical pursuit.

Each guide brings their own way of explaining ideas. Liam tends to use everyday-life analogies, while Aanya draws from her psychology background. We’ve found different styles resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect with certain approaches more than others.

Liam Kapoor

Lead Instructor

Liam began practicing meditation in 1998 after burnout from a software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. What distinguishes him is his gift for translating ancient ideas into relatable, modern analogies—he once likened monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and specializes in helping busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions often include practical discussions about weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypass.

Aanya Singh

Philosophy Guide

Aanya pairs a PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative practice while studying ancient texts and realized that academic understanding means little without experiential knowing. Her approach blends scholarly insight with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Aanya has a gift for making intricate philosophical ideas accessible without diluting them. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate, but why these practices arose and what they aim to accomplish.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve learned that meditation works best when it’s demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or claim you’ll reach perfect inner calm. Instead, we focus on building skills that help you navigate life’s inevitable challenges with greater awareness and reduced reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, giving you time to consider whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking thoughtful time to decide about contemplative practice—it’s not something to rush into on a momentary wave of interest.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has quietly transformed our lives, and we’ve seen it do the same for many others.
